Logging serious steps for OR Blogger Challenge
The Active Nation Blogger Challenge went down at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City! There was plenty of big talk and braggadocio leading up to the show, with bloggers heckling each other about who could log the most steps during the 4-day trade show.
The results were indeed impressive. Four bloggers walked more than 150,000 steps collectively at the Salt Palace Convention Center – something close to 60 miles of walking! Nice to know they got their exercise in!
The blogwalkers were:
- Amy Jurries of GearCaster = @TheGearcaster — http://www.thegearcaster.com/ — Amy paced out more than 48,000 steps during the show!
- Randi Hitchcock from Upadowna = @UpaDowna — http://www.upadowna.com/blog
- Jason Magness of Gear Junkie = @TheGearJunkie — http://gearjunkie.com/dailydose
- Utah Outside’s Jared Hartgrave = @Utah_Outside – http://www.utahoutside.com/
Our fifth blogger, Jason Renda of OutdoorInformer.com was tragically prevented from competing, due to some airline logistical failures and such. Don’t worry, Jason, there is always Summer OR to redeem yourself…
Our blogger champions helped three conference attendees win their very own GeoPalz, as part of the daily “horse race” drawing.
Winner!!!
And at the end of the week, our stepper with the most steps – Amy - took home a $50.00 gift certificate to our retail partner, Whole Foods. Everybody wins!!
Way to go, Amy!!!!
